When a septuagenarian looks remarkably younger than his age, you know he's doing something right. In Ron Salisbury's case, his restaurant' popularity and honors prove he�s doing a whole feast of things right. Although he once dreamed of coaching football, it was in his blood to pursue the family business, and he's found that running restaurants is analogous to coaching in goal setting, management, and teamwork.

For roughly 70 years, The Glider Inn stood as one of the few structures gracing Seal Beach's quiet waterfront. A small municipal airport provided a thematic backdrop to the restaurant and sleepy surf town; so when three local surfing buddies purchased the inn and launched Mahé over a decade ago, they set out to maintain the original building and its accompanying spirit, going so far as to keep a replica airplane atop the roof in honor of the town's heritage.
